About
An RFC con homoclave is the full version of the Mexican Registro Federal de Contribuyentes issued by the SAT. This code includes an additional three-digit code which ensures that there will not be duplicate RFC numbers among people who have similar names. Individuals have a 13-digit number, while businesses have a 12-digit number.
To issue facturas, to open up a business account, to register to social security, and to file taxes, one needs a valid RFC con homoclave number. One can check whether his/her number is correct by checking it on the SAT official website, by providing the CURP and name of the individual.
