About

The Gorge is not merely a gap; it is a genuine gorge, concealed from Google Maps in an undisclosed Eastern European nation, protected by two watchtowers. In the western tower resides Levi (Miles Teller), a distinguished retired Marine sniper. To the east is Drasa (Anya Taylor-Joy), a skilled assassin from Latvia. Between them, hidden within the mists of the gorge, lurks a swarm of so-called “hollow men”: eerie, moss-covered creatures that must be contained at all costs. The two marksmen, airdropped into this situation with minimal information by enigmatic, well-dressed operatives (including Sigourney Weaver, who adds her gravitas and genre credibility to yet another science fiction film), are strictly prohibited from communicating with each other. However, this proves to be a significant challenge when the only human they are allowed to see for an entire year resembles an extraordinarily attractive movie star of the opposite gender. The star-crossed snipers develop a flirtatious rapport through whiteboard messages and, inevitably, discover a way to bridge the divide between them for a bit of international romance. Yet, the hollow men are relentless, and soon Levi and Drasa find themselves compelled to venture into the mist-laden surrealism of the gorge to uncover the true nature of their adversaries.
