When we learn about the ways of the Lord, we are educating ourselves about how God wants us to respond to him, how he wants us to respond to others, and how we should respond to situations we encounter in this life. God is Holy, and he wants us to strive to be like him. He wants us to submit to his will, and put him first in our life. When we put him first and trust him to lead us, we will avoid many heartaches that we would encounter when we insist on having things our own way.
