In 2016 I reached out to prolific cult author Gar Wilson for permission to read his series of Phoenix Force novels as a podcast.Mr Wilson returned my enquiry with an impromptu production plan, flying out to my home town and hiring a full production crew and studio through dubious means, to record the entire series in audiobook format. He intends to make the resulting series of audiobooks available on all media platforms, read by the author. However, at the last minute it became evident that he did not have the rights to his work, and so recording began in earnest on the project that would be retitled Redacted Force, read by the author--who was legally required to change every fifth word on average live, during production. This podcast is a look behind the scenes of that process.
