Ian and Dan are two engineering students and roommates at a Massachusetts college that, in response to a joke, turned their dorm room into a recording studio and began to record their conversations. What soon arose from this gimmick was the idea of creating a full-fledged podcast. The name "Public Static" is a nod to their background as computer engineering students.
