About

"Catastrophic" is a raw collection of 10min stories from people all over Australia giving their first hand account of what it is like to live through the bushfires and face the aftermath. It is a call to action to all political parties to step up and take real action on Climate Change. A way for people to get their stories heard. Right now Australia is in the grips of catastrophic bushfires all over the country. At the time of creating this podcast 26 people had died, 3000 homes had been lost, over a billion animals were dead and 10 million hectares of Australia had been burnt to a crisp. People and families are fighting for their lives. property and businesses, they are evacuating to beaches, being saved by the navy or stuck for days without supplies. Entire communities are devastated. The only thing saving us is the heroism of Australia's brave and committed Fire Fighters - many of whom are volunteers and have been fighting, unpaid, since August. Everyone is screaming for the Australian government to get off their butts and do SOMETHING about climate change. But our climate denying government isn't listening. So we made the "Catastrophic" Podcast to make them listen. Listen Up Podcasting is collecting and collating as many 10min stories from the Aussie bushfires as they can to send to all the major parties. ALL living things have a basic right to exist. Right now the Australian government is wilfully and negligently breaching that basic right and these are the stories of everyday Australians living with the consequences. If you have a story you would like heard please get in touch via email at info@listenuppodcasting.com.au We encourage every Australian who cares about this issue to write to their local MP and demand action on Climate Change.
