About

All Alone Together: A Community in Lockdown This brand-new podcast series collects stories straight from the people living in the 5 boroughs that surround the Upper Norwood Library Hub in Crystal Palace, South East London in the period of Covid 19 in 2020. This building at the heart of Crystal Palace has been a lifeline for many people in the local area. The building houses not only a traditional library but also a cafe, study rooms, event spaces for hire, a live streaming studio and the Library of Things. 2019 brought its best year hosting a newly decorated cafe bar, music events, art exhibitions, an award-winning digital skills course, a children’s coding club and even a New Year’s Eve family rave. When Lockdown closed the building it fragmented and isolated much of the community that depended upon it. This unique insight into a Community in Lockdown collects different voices and experiences of this period with the hope of informing the powers that be today of the actions required tomorrow. This project is in In association with the Upper Norwood Library Hub and is funded by the Arts Council England. For more information on the Upper Norwood Library Hub and their other digital services visit here: www.uppernorwoodlibraryhub.org
