Listen to a new episode of YNS Live with NFL Thread recorded live on Fireside with hosts Juliet Hahn and Cynthia Zordich featuring Morgan Thomas. “Just knowing that you're a part of something with other families and other women, where you have gone through similar experiences. It's important to examine what those experiences can do to your health and how they can make certain individuals feel. It affects all of us. When one thing happens to one person, we're all affected.” - Morgan Thomas Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, Morgan Thomas attended Spelman College for her undergraduate degree in Psychology. She now resides in Boynton Beach, Florida, and is completing her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Adler University. Thomas dedicates her mental health interests to suicide awareness, depression, anxiety, and destigmatizing mental health in minority communities. As part of her doctoral completion, Morgan is currently working on a dissertation that studies race-related stress and experiences of racial discrimination on black adults, and differences by gender. Morgan is also a part of the advisory board of FEM-FL (Family Experiences Managing Football Lives), a research initiative focused on the partners and spouses of current and former NFL players. The FEM-FL team is studying how these relationships affect many aspects of partners’ lives, including their physical, mental, and emotional health, as well as their careers, in hope that gathering this information will lead to the development of a set of recommendations for supporting families of NFL players and other caregivers. Morgan’s future career goals include owning a private practice and obtaining a Master’s degree in Psychopharmacology (to have the ability to prescribe medication). Outside of professional interests, Morgan considers herself a “foodie”, enjoys interior design, fitness, travel, dogs, plants, and her family. Morgan is happily married to JT Thomas III, retired NFL linebacker and current real estate investor. Follow Morgan on Instagram.
