It has been my experience that the good news of Jesus Christ is rarely received outside of meaningful relationships.  Unfortunately, many Christians do not share their faith in Christ Jesus with their family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers because they feel unqualified to do so, thinking that they don't know enough Bible or their lives aren't perfect.  This would be a problem if we were called to share "us" with our neighbor, but we aren't.  We are called to point others to our Savior - not to us - and what we consider to be disqualifications are the very weaknesses that our Lord uses in bringing forth from us an authentic witness to Him.  John the Baptist teaches us that the role of an evangelist is to point people to Jesus and allow ourselves to fade into the background.  What could be less threatening than that?
