The initial bout of suffering that came on Job was sudden and enormous. In one day, Job was stripped of his wealth and bereaved of his ten children. In Job 1 we have a blow by blow account of Job’s suffering, as one messenger after another comes to tell Job that he has lost everything.

“I am nailed to the cross with Christ. nevertheless I live; yet not I; but Christ liveth in me.” (Galatians 2:20) It is only when the 'I' is crucified that Christ can manifest Himself within us. The Holy Spirit transforms us into the image of Christ day by day, and year by year, But the pathway of transformation from into the image of Christ is via the PASSION of the cross. “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” (Luke 9:23) If we through the Spirit, allow the passion of the cross to put to death our self-life, we shall know the abundance of Christ's life, not otherwise.
