On June 9th, 1930 crime reporter Jake Jingle was murdered in public while waiting for a train. The public whacking of Jake Lingle sent shock waves of anger and disgust through the streets of the Windy City that reverberated down into Chicago’s underworld- all the way to Scarface Al Capone. At the time the unspoken rule with the underworld was that newspapermen were "off-limits," however there is more than meets the eye to this front-page headline.
