I'm excited about this episode because we're talking about generational ideas of body image. As women, we're very self-focused. We tend to think that the way we want to look, is the way everyone wants to look. We also tend to compare ourselves to the current beauty/body "standard". But when you look at what the beauty/body standard was throughout the years, it's ever-changing. It's not like women have held themselves to the same standards for the past 200 years and we're all working towards the same goal. No! Depending on the decade that you grew up in, or went to college in, that's going to influence what you think your body should look like. So think about the expectations that you're holding yourself to and what "standard" does it line up with? Let's deconstruct these generational body type expectations, and be more intentional about where your expectations for your body come from.
