2008 was an important point in the history of this country. Probably as important as 2001. It was in the Great Recessions that the American people saw the big shots abandon capitalism and anything like fair play in the marketplace to save their skins, while everyday people lost their homes. - The result? People blamed "capitalism" for this unfair situation and started to demand that government bail them out too. The thing is, bailouts are the exact opposite of capitalism, and it is the American taxpayers, the engine of American prosperity, who have paid for these bailouts anyway. (In more ways than one.) Our current system is not sustainable. But the politicians/cronies/other people addicted to government won't stop until the system comes to an agonizing halt. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/nick-sorrentino/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/nick-sorrentino/support
