How do writers get ideas for a book? Where does inspiration come from? Things to consider when writing a book: Decide what kind of book you want to write. Is it a memoir? Novel? Self-help? Business book? If fiction, which genre? Why are you writing it? What is the purpose? Money or passion? We discuss the difference between writing to get rich vs writing because you are passionate about it. Read. Read. Read. Read what you enjoy. Write what you’d want to read. Jot down whatever comes to mind in relation to your book. This is your rough draft. Have a journal with you at all times. Ideas come in the most random places. Some writers use Evernote and sync to multiple device (up to 3) Get in the habit of writing daily or weekly. Choose a schedule or routine and stick to it. Write an outline.
