Last Thursday, the DNC held a Muslim Caucus meeting via ZOOM, during which the leader recited the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States. What has the panties of a bunch of Evangelical zealots in a wad, is that he “left out” two words that they believe are necessary or else it is the time of the apocalypse or some such. It isn’t, of course. In fact, there is a consideration here that makes me wonder exactly why they feel the need to inflict their religious beliefs on anybody, let alone me. And it always leads to the same question: Exactly whose “god” am I “under?” By the by, the oath I took is to uphold and defend the Constitution and its protection of your right to believe in whatever Deity in which you choose to believe. Not to inflict that belief upon me…
