Recorded during the BigCi residency (Wollemi National Park, Blue Mountains NSW Australia) as part of the project on time and natural rhythms. We set down in the kitchen of the BigCi property on sunset of Monday 31st of May to talk about things that slow us down and change our pace. "I think the bush is a fantastic place to lose and find time. To do both of those things," said Freedom. ~~~~ Freedom Wilson is a printmaker who draws on location, to explore and study plant and fungi biodiversity. This process emphasises the importance of plant relationships functioning at a micro level when looking at the Australian landscape as a whole. She has been drawing and researching in the Gardens of Stone pagoda country before transforming life size plant drawings into macro, portrait like silkscreen prints. Her work carries a message of conservation for the preservation of these fragile areas.
