In episode 158 of the TigerTalk podcast presented by Northeast Mississippi Community College, host Will Kollmeyer welcomes Northeast president, Dr. Ricky G. Ford, to the podcast as Kollmeyer and Ford sit down to discuss a variety of topics that are happening at the college. Ford discusses summer school and the over 370 classes and 4,700 students that attended the college during the summer months along with more information about The Northeast Promise and plans to expand the promise to other areas such as Health Science students and ultimately, the entire student population at Northeast. Ford talks about the ongoing Phase II Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) grants and how it will impact the college with new lighted crosswalks and safety measures as well as the paving overlay projects address some of the parking lots on campus. Northeast's Campus Police Department just received new digital radios that will aid in communication with local police and county departments in the surrounding area. Ford also discusses the COVID-19 Delta variant and its need to make all coming on campus for proctored exams next week to wear masks.
