The focus of today’s show is on social entrepreneurship. What is social entrepreneurship? The term has been floating around a lot these days but very few people really understand what it is about. We explore what social entrepreneurship is, the opportunities available for social entrepreneurs. This includes grants and funding available especially for social entrepreneurs. We then have a chat with Busi Dziba a corporate queen turned social entrepreneur based in Midrand, South Africa. Busi has a passion for women and youth empowerment and this has led her to host regular Dialogues for women raising children with special needs. She also started BonguLwazi Montessori School, an inclusive elementary school which caters for all children, including children with special needs. Busi also founded an NGO, Daughter Zion Institute, which works with women who have been abused, especially those working in prostitution. She equips these women with skills that empower them for the workplace and/or for entrepreneurial opportunities. Finally, we take a look at the role of technology in social entrepreneurship.--- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/ijere-africa/supportThis show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/4661091/advertisement
