‘I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.’ Psalm 32:8 (NIV). As we become more increasingly aware of God’s presence, we find it easier to discern the way we should go. This is one of the practical benefits of living close to Him. Instead of wasting precious time and energy fretting about what is on the road ahead or worrying about what we should or shouldn’t do and if or when we should do it, we can concentrate on staying in close communion with God. When we do arrive at a point where a choice needs to be made, God will instruct and teach us in the way we should go. Many of us are so preoccupied with future plans and decisions that we fail to see choices we need to make today.
