Business
Welcome to Braving Business, a podcast about the overlap of business and personal for solopreneurs, creative startups, and social entrepreneurs. Today I’m talking about the shift from selling to friends and family to selling to people that you don’t know. There are many advantages to selling to friends and family. And then there are also disadvantages–especially in the long run. And when we make that shift, we often forget why people buy things from us in the first place. We tend to overlook a few things: The relationship capital we have with friends/family but not with those who don’t know us What this new person doesn’t know about how our product/service is valuable Where we can get stuck: We spend way too much time sharing the details of purchase instead of the value of a purchase It’s harder to sell to people we don’t know, but that doesn’t mean it’s not possible. But you’ve got to get in their shoes. Thanks for joining me on today’s episode of Braving Business!
