He has played a key role in shaping the Indian radio and dubbing landscape, serving as the former National Creative and Content Head for some of the country’s biggest radio brands and as Vice President at HT Media Ltd.


Over the years, his work in audio drama and storytelling has received international recognition, including multiple wins and nominations at the New York Festivals, setting new benchmarks for quality in Indian audio content. He is also credited with bringing long-form radio dramas back into mainstream listening, helping audiences rediscover the power of storytelling through sound.


In 2016, he composed the National Yog Anthem of India for the Ministry of AYUSH, reflecting his ability to handle projects of national and cultural importance. Today, he is the founder of Mediazaadey Entertainment LLP, where he focuses on creating original audio and visual content for the digital era, including large-scale audio dramas like Ramayan and Mahabharat.


Born in Madhyamgram, West Bengal, and now based in Mumbai, Sumanto Ray shares how his Bengali roots, exposure to diverse cultures, and deep understanding of sound have shaped his creative vision.
