In a brand new episode of the Voice of Bengaluru, host Sowjanya tells an interesting story about how the ancient practice of Surya Namaskara came to be. Surya Namaskar, also known as Sun Salutation, is a popular sequence of yoga postures that are performed in a flowing, rhythmic manner. It is a traditional part of Hatha Yoga and is often used as a warm-up or as a standalone practice. Surya Namaskar consists of 12 yoga poses, each of which is performed in a specific sequence, with breath control and movement in coordination. This sequence is designed to honour the sun, which is a symbol of vitality, energy, and life force. Surya Namaskar is believed to be a great way to start the day, as it helps to increase circulation, energize the body, and calm the mind. Subscribe to this podcast and also follow us here.
