It's late September and summer's over, but in 1930's Texas, the Heat is on! In today's episode, Kevin and Scott examine the Netflix produced Bonnie and Clyde update, "The Highwaymen". Unlike previous versions of the lawless lover's tale, this film tells the story from the point of view of the men charged with hunting them down. And hunt them they did. With killer performances (pun intended) from Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson as real life Texas Rangers Frank Hamer and Manny Gault, and a (mostly) accurate historical narrative, it's a grim but fascinating look into how 19th century frontier gumshoes were able to merge their experience and insights with new modern tools like wire tapping and fast, Ford cars that could take both predator and prey hundreds of miles across state lines in a single night. Manos Arribas, motherfucker!
