This is chapter 6 of The Teachings of a Toltec Survivor. Koyote talks about the nature of the Great Magician as the pivotal focus that stands as the assemblage point of the human world. He is the one who is perceived as the one in control of this illusion, and at times he comes declare himself God. The Great Magician, however, is not the real supreme consciousness. He is the equivalent of the false ego for humanity. He stands as a concentration of power over the dream, but in the end he is also part of the dream, and such his power is really an illusion. Learn the true nature of your self as something beyond this dream, and know yourself beyond the illusion of the World. Free yourself from the bondage of the Great Magician by the path of knowledge. In the end, you have given your power to the Great Magician. You can take it back and realize yourself as the dreamer who creates your own reality, but instead of identifying yourself as the dream self, you can know yourself as the silent void beyond all dreams, thus attaining liberation through awakening.
