The Chain That Never Stopped

Business

Robinhood Chain did not halt on 4 September 2026. Published reports said it did. The chain's own record says otherwise, and so did Arbitrum on the day. K. L. Phillips reads the record: measured two independent ways, and sealed so it can't be quietly revised.

The day the chain "went down": 854,255 blocks carrying almost 14 million transactions. Every one of the day's 1,440 minutes produced at least 548 blocks, and the longest gap between two blocks was 2 seconds. In the very minute the reports named, the chain produced 592 blocks. What paused was the chain's posting of its data to Ethereum: 516 + 324 = 840 seconds, exactly 14 minutes, and both pauses ended before the time the reports gave.

Also in this episode: the wallet fee coverage that didn't end on 29 September; nearly one transaction in five that fails and still pays (about 120 million of 653 million user transactions, 18.4 %, about 1,551 Ether in fees); AMC's "sixty times", which was seventeen minutes on a Sunday; launchpad buybacks and creator fees; weekends, yields and bots; what a token's first hour predicts; Arbitrum's settlement split, exactly 90/10 on every settlement; and how a Glass Hull proof is made.
