Many films are easily forgotten. They are designed to entertain you for about two hours while taking your money, and you might not even recall the title a few days afterward.


Only a handful of films hold significant value. They may not be the best in terms of acting, writing, or cinematography, but they convey crucial stories, and Swipe is among them, alongside The Tale and a few others.


Victim blaming remains prevalent in our society, and Lilly James' performance as a bright and ambitious recent graduate caught in a toxic relationship is outstanding. The abuse depicted is genuine, and the messages shown on screen are direct reflections of the harassment and domestic violence she suffered from Justin Mateen, which ultimately led to her losing her job at Tinder.
