Sweden has long enjoyed the reputation of being one of the most peaceful countries in Europe. But new research reveals that the Scandinavian nation has the continent's highest rate when it comes to gun homicides. According to the Swedish National Council for the Prevention of Crime, Sweden counts four deaths per million people, while the European average is just 1.6. Between January and September of this year, there have been 234 shootings. The violence is mainly the result of score-settling between gangs. As one former gang member told FRANCE 24, they have no difficulty in getting hold of weapons. Our correspondent reports.
