The narrative is centered on the planned establishment of Horizon, located in the San Pedro Valley of Arizona. The native Apache people are displeased with the disruption of their hunting grounds, which leads to the deaths of the initial settlers and the subsequent destruction of the settlement. This plotline includes a military encampment, vengeful settlers seeking retribution against the Apache, and internal conflict within the Apache community between a chief advocating for peace with the "white eyes" and his son who wants to expel all settlers from their territory.
