Stephanie works with The Colibrí Center for Human Rights, which is an NGO with the mission to end migrant death and related suffering on the U.S.-Mexico border. They collaborate with families and forensic scientists to find the missing and help identify the dead. Since they began their Missing Migrant Project in 2006, their team has collected more than 3,000 reports from families searching for loved ones. They compare the information the families provide about missing people to the information medical examiners determine from examining people who have lost their lives. Through their DNA Program, they collect DNA samples from families who wish to have their DNA compared against that of unidentified individuals in the hope that these comparisons will give families the answers they need. https://www.colibricenter.org It was an insightful conversation!
