In recognition of Black History Month this month, I wanted to open a conversation confronting a very heavy, yet (in my opinion), an extremely important topic to address.Racism.This is a wide conversation across all races, but in this episode, we’ll specifically be speaking to racism within the African American and Caucasian communities.I would love to have and normalize open and honest conversations and learn from those affected; what it’s like to be on the receiving end of racism, the effects it has on people and their families, in raising children, confronting white privilege, how we can start addressing it and what changes we can start making in our own mindset, as well as our interaction with those around us to start shifting to a more empathetic society. We have 4 people from different perspectives within the African American community that will be answering some basic questions on what racism means to them and how it has affected them in their own lives as well as the lives of their families. If you or someone you know has a different perspective and a story they would like to share on this topic, please send me an email at itsnotjustyou.apodcast@gmail.com If you know someone that could benefit from this podcast, please consider sharing.
