The tenth episode of the Nagorno-Karabakh War miniseries produced by Regional Post Caucasus and Eastern Dialogue features Simon Maghakyan, Lecturer of International Relations at the University of Colorado and founder of the Djulfa Virtual Memorial and Museum. During this episode, we discuss the importance of cultural heritage preservation after the Nagorno-Karabakh war. We chat about the role of UNESCO, the process of ‘Albanization’ of the Armenian monuments by Azerbaijan, and we evaluate the efforts of the Artsakh authorities in the preservation of the Islamic cultural heritage in Nagorno-Karabakh. Finally, we discuss which important monuments have passed under the Azerbaijani control after the signature of the “peace” deal.
