In early February, we drove down to Upstate New York to interview Jalil Muntaqim. Jalil was a member of the Black Panther Party and the Black Liberation Army, and is one of the longest held political prisoners in the world (nearly 50 years). He’s a co-founder of the Jericho Movement and the author of two books (We are Our Own Liberators and Escaping the Prism). To learn more about his case and to support his efforts for release, visit FreeJalil.com In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the need to free political prisoners and all people who are locked up has never been so great. We want to urge everyone listening to this episode to do whatever they can to help create pressure for Jalil's release, and to mobilize for the release of everyone who’s still trapped inside right now.
