After rolling through the regular season unbeaten and capturing the ACC Championship, No. 1 Florida State faced off with 2nd ranked Auburn from the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA on January 6, 2014 for the BCS National Championship Game.A slow start found the Seminoles down to the Tigers 21-3 in the 2nd quarter, but FSU cut the lead to 21-10 at the half. Entering the final 15 minutes down just eight, 21-13, the 4th quarter would belong to the 'Noles.Down 24-20 with 5 minutes remaining, Kermit Whitfield took an Auburn Tigers kickoff back 100-yards for a score to give FSU a 27-24 lead.
