Blog Topic: Now is the time to go on offense and use it to propel us through this most unprecedented moment in public educational history: As a physical educator & administrator for 27 years, heart attack survivor & father for 18 years, these past couple of weeks have been surreal. However, it is time to go on offense. Speaking from a lens of a coach who lead a team to a state championship I want to take a minute to applaud Governor Andrew Cuomo. A leader who has shown compassion and thoughtfulness with personal real-life examples in this time of uncertainty. That is what we as teachers do every day. We rise and find a way each day to walk onto the practice field…. our own classroom) and be there for their students. No matter how they are feeling or what is going on at home. We rise and walk through the door and lead, teach, encourage, reassure and coach. This is who we are as New York educators. We find a way, every day to get it done.
