To Be a Christian: An Anglican Catechism Part I + Beginning with Christ Salvation and the Gospel “This Catechism (To Be a Christian) is designed to make clear to everyone what it means to be a Christian. It lays out what is essential for Christian faith and life... However, one can know about these things and yet remain apart from them. In order not to miss what God is offering you, it is imperative that you receive Jesus Christ as your own Savior and Lord… This opening section of the Catechism focuses on helping you to take this step... To be a Christian is a lifelong commitment, but it begins with becoming a Christian in a conscious way... Being a Christian is a process of advance from that point.” From the Introduction of To Be a Christian ---- Note: When the phrase “reincarnation” was used in today’s episode, it was in no way related to the belief that humans may be reincarnated in this life as another being. Rather, it was used to stress the concept that the resurrection is bodily (carnate) and that our ultimate hope is in a carnal state rather than an ethereal one. We will reinhabit our carnal bodies (e.g. be reincarnate); however, we acknowledge that the term resurrection would have been more clear in this instance.
