Cult of Youth

Arts

“I didn’t spend the years when I was becoming a musician in Dublin, but I still know how important a lot of these [spaces] are to the creative scene. And even since coming home it’s very obvious, you need places where young creative people can go… That are affordable.”'Cult of Youth' is the first series in the new podcast network from The Tenth Man. Featuring some of the most forward-thinking names in art, culture, music and business, each episode will be a throwback to the guest's earlier years, how their youth informed their careers and shaped their lives as they are today. We also chat about modern youth culture in Ireland and ask the age-old question - if you could go back to your younger days, would you? And what would you change? In the first episode Eric Davidson sits down with Sorcha Richardson into the studio. Dublin born and bred, at 18 Sorcha upped sticks and moved to New York city. She spent 8 years there developing her sound, songwriting and stage craft. Returning to Dublin in late 2017, at the beginning of November she launched her album ‘First Prize Bravery’ and this month she plays a number of Irish shows, kicking off in Whelan’s on Wednesday November 20th.
