Galatians 5:13a kαλέω kaléō = call, name, direct, summon, invite, appoint What does it mean to “be called?” Calling is the truth that God calls us to himself so decisively that everything we are, everything we do, and everything we have is invested with a special devotion, dynamism, and direction lived out as a response to his summons and service. -Os Guinness, The Call קָרָא qara = call, shout, summon, to name, announce, appoint But now, this is what the Lord says—he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. Isaiah 43:1 God’s call changes everything! The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. Matthew 4:18-20 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel.
