It’s a stark reality: People are wrongfully convicted. Some are falsely accused. Others are excessively sentenced. I know all of this because I have investigated numerous criminal cases over the past decade throughout the country. The United States, by the way, has the highest incarceration rate in the world, imprisoning more than 2 million people. No community, no person is left unaffected.
