RCA's Major Decision: Formation of New Selection Committees
The Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) has constituted senior and junior men's selection committees in preparation for the upcoming 2026-27 domestic season.
Dr. Mohit Jaswant Yadav, Convener of the Ad-hoc Committee, announced this decision, which has become a topic of discussion within the cricketing fraternity.
Heads of the Selection Committees and Their Scope of Work
Former cricketer Vijendra Yadav has been appointed Chairman of the senior men's selection committee; he will select players for major tournaments such as the Ranji Trophy, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Vijay Hazare Trophy, and Under-23 competitions.
Amar Singh Negi will lead the junior men's selection committee, with the responsibility of selecting teams for the Under-19, Under-16, and Under-14 age groups.
Emphasis on Transparency and Talent: The Way Forward
The RCA Ad-hoc Committee has clarified that player selection will be based entirely on performance and talent, thereby providing young players with opportunities to come forward.
An online application and interview process was adopted for the formation of these committees, aiming to ensure a transparent selection procedure.
The RCA aims to provide players with maximum match-playing opportunities so that they can effectively represent Rajasthan at the national level.
