"Jesus said that the greatest commandment in the Old Testament was, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind” (in Matthew) The second commandment was, “Love your neighbour as yourself” (Matthew 22:39) So, when we think of love, we usually think it’s about feelings – but the real love (like Betsie in the story) is not depended on our feelings. It’s more than how we could feel towards someone – because if it was me – I would have been more like Corrie. It’s so easy to love when you are in love with a guy, or you love a family member or your friends. But it’s so much harder to love those that are evil to us.
