Think BIG Dentistry Show

Business

This is the Think BIG Dentistry Show where your hosts Dr. John and Marilee Sears, will show you how to give your indecision and confusion a back seat to decisive, goal-driven decisions to move you forward. Where we will break out of the mundane and routine, ordinary biases and ideas about running a dental practice and propel you and your practice into profit! We'll give you systems and strategies to create a successful practice along with the freedom to live your most powerful life. Dr. John and I chat about the three big D's direction, determination, and decision. Dr. Steven Covey says to "start with the end in mind." What do we want to achieve and stand for? What is your purpose? Many times big and bold decisions are made as a result of a life-changing event. Once you are really clear and bold about the direction of your life and what you want to achieve, then you become bold and unstoppable because your life has changed. Life is dynamic, and what we are today is different than what we were yesterday. COVID-19 is a significant event that we haven't experienced. This event has paused us all, and now many people are self-assessing and reflecting on their life. For Dr. John, this has meant rethinking his practice, looking for new opportunities, how is he going to define his new practice? Asking questions of patients equates to a patient knowing they are essential to Dr. John. He prides himself on giving his patients the attention they deserve, and his clients know that he will sit and listen to them. For his staff, Dr. John has changed his practice hours so his staff can have time for themselves after work hours. Make sure to take this opportunity to make changes. Making new decisions comes from a place of power. Be excited about the new changes you've made. Decide what choices you want to make now so you can implement them in your practice when you return to your office. Marilee quotes Jim Carey saying, "You can fail at what you don't want, or you can choose to take a chance at what you love." Listen in to find out why the solo dentist will never go away, why Dr. John's path is in a constant state of recalculation and why creativity and curiosity vary among people. Learn why curiosity makes us sit and listen to an answer, what questions you should ask yourself to know more about you and your practice, and what are the four main elements you need to be happy.
