What trust should be: 1. Trust should be with your whole heart. Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.” 2. Trust should be from your youth up. Psalms 71:5 “For You are my hope, O Lord GOD; You are my trust from my youth.” Trust leads you to being compassed with mercy, enjoyment of perfect peace, enjoyment of temporal and spiritual blessings, enjoyment of happiness, rejoicing in God, fulfilment of all holy desires, deliverance from enemies, safety in times of danger, stability, and prosperity. Trust in God will also keep you from fear. Psalms 56:3-4 “Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God (I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?” Psalms 56:11 “In God I have put my trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?” Isaiah 12:2 “Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; ‘For Yah, the Lord, is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation.’ ” Hebrew 13:6 “So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” Trusting in God leads to: Total Confidence Total Dependency Total Transparency Life Application Questions 1. Who or what are you putting your confidence or trust in? Does trusting God come easy to you? Why or why not? 2. Do you depend and rely on God for every aspect of your life? What areas do you struggle with? Commit to praying for each other in these areas. 3. Who is looking up to you and possibly watching you and how you handle life’s circumstances?
