“It’s good news” for developing countries where angioplasty as first line of treatment for ischaemic symptoms is not an option. “When angioplasty can not be offered as early on as in the developed countries, giving patients antianginal therapies is a very valid alternative”. ORBITA is a blinded, multicentre randomised trial of percutaneous coronary intervention versus a placebo procedure for angina relief that was done at five study sites in the UK.
