Miscellaneous

Tony Tolbert is a former defensive end for the Dallas Cowboys. He was drafted by the National Football League in 1989 and his many achievements in his NFL career include being NFL Rookie of the Year in 1989, named to the Pro Bowl in 1996, and winning the Super Bowl three times. Tony was diagnosed with a degenerative knee condition and played with chronic knee pain through the final years of his career. After retiring, he had knee-replacement surgery on both of his knees.  Tony and his wife are currently involved with Fit & Faithful Living, a charitable organization in Dallas, Texas that’s dedicated to helping marginalized community members by providing workshops, events and presentations that can help them lead better lives. In this episode… Parents love to watch their children play sports and coaches love to interject as the kids are on the field. But retired NFL player Tony Tolbert believes that coaching shouldn’t be done on the sidelines, they should happen before and after the game. The kids need guidance before they get out on the field, they need focus during the game, and they need to know where and how they can improve post-game. Football is a very competitive sport and Tony uses these same teachings he has learned throughout his career with his own kids who now play their own sport. And for Tony, allowing kids to learn how they can navigate their own field while offering support is the best way for them to hone their skills. Join Dr. Chad Stephens as he interviews retired NFL player Tony Tolbert in this episode of Dr. Stephen Speaks Show. Join their exciting conversation about Tony’s football career, how things have changed for him since retirement, the techniques Tony uses to develop and nurture young football players, and learn more about the charity he and his wife support, Fit and Faithful Living.
