Pastor Micah concluded our most recent series called "Now What?" We just celebrated the greatest day in history 6 weeks ago, Resurrection Sunday! If Jesus died and was resurrected, "Now what?" How should I live if that is true? What am I supposed to do now? The "Now What?" series is four weeks of looking at the truth that we have a place in God's big story by looking at four different stories from Jesus' time on Earth after His resurrection and before His ascension.This week we look at the last exchange between Jesus and His disciples before He ascended into Heaven in Acts chapter 1. Jesus told the disciples to stay in Jerusalem, and wait for the Holy Spirit which God was about to send. The Holy Spirit was going to come, and empower the disciples and early Church to reach people with the hope of Jesus. This is the power they needed to begin working on the Great Commission of talking the Gospel message to the ends of the Earth. Jesus told them that the Holy Spirit will empower them to be His witnesses in Jerusalem, in all of Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the Earth. Today, the Holy Spirit continues to empower us as believers to take the Gospel message into our local communities, broader areas of our state and nation, and throughout the world. Bottom line: The Holy Spirit is the battery pack that empowers us, and unlocks our potential to reach the world for Jesus Christ. So one last time, here is the question for this week:Are you in? Are you going to be witnesses? Are you going to make disciples?
