A new era in Urdu literature had started with the first book called Mavara ( The Beyond) by N M Rashid. (Along with Meera Je and Tassaduq Hussain Khalid)introduced "Azad Nazm" to urdu poetics. Although this poem may seem a simple one but as the time progresses the NM Rashid work would become more and more metaphorical and philosophical. The journey of NM Rashid is from an average lyrical poet to a great philosophical giant. He stands tall along with the likes of Mir, Ghalib and iqbal.
