Recent history has shown us what the energy in opposition to an unpopular President can accomplish. Record-setting fundraising, mass mobilization across demographics, and a spike in voter turnout. Recent history also shows us the pitfalls of what happens when all of that energy disappears once the goal of seating a new President has been accomplished. Regardless of the outcome of this election, the answer is not to withdraw back into our phones and our lack of attention to the world around us. The problems we face will not disappear with a new President. We all have something to give, and it is up to us to stay energized and fight for the change that is needed.
