It is implied that Julian Albans is a bully. One afternoon, he comes home and finds Sara, his grandma, there. Shocked by his cruel behaviour, she tells of her childhood in Nazi-occupied France. When the Germans pick up Jewish kids at her school, fifteen-year-old Sara escapes. While she waits for word about her parents, Julien Beaumier, a classmate with polio who is frequently the object of mockery, helps her by hiding her in his family's barn. "White Bird" skilfully combines two storylines. One centres on a Jewish adolescent's experiences amid Hitler's ascent to power. A few of the sequences are very intense, notably the ones where the teachers are trying to keep their pupils safe from the Nazis. The intense traumas that teenagers went through at that time are poignantly brought to light by watching Sara's escape from an almost certain sad fate. You can watch this movie on Myflixer.
