I would be neglecting my duty as a change agent and advocate to the advancement of all people, specifically black and brown people, if I did not address the most recent events in our social climate. Since the birth of this nation, black and brown people have been enslaved, oppressed and discriminated against. Most recently, we have been hunted by the very individuals who have taken an oath to protect and serve. The recent murders of Rayshard Brooks, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, and Ahmaud Arbery have sparked global outrage and initiated protests aimed at combating the systematic oppression that black people face around the world.
