In this episode of Quick to Politic, a conversation with CARE of South East Michigan and Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network. We talk about their many mental health and drug prevention resources that are free to the community in Southeast Michigan and Wayne County. We will also discuss seasonal depression during the holidays and mental health. Our guests are MaryJo Harris of CARE, Karra E. Thomas and Tinetra Burns of Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network (DWIHN). We discussed the following questions: 1. Seasonal depression and the holidays, how might COVID have compounded things in terms of isolation. How can organizations like CARE and DWIHN help? 2. Behavioral health specialist teaming up with Detroit Police to respond to mental health issues in police calls, Lets discuss what this will look like and if other cities can adopt this model. 5.
